"My lifelong goal as a teacher is to help my students discover their innate ability to dance. Dance allows for self-expression, creativity, communication, and connection. I teach trained and untrained dancers ballet, tap, jazz, period and social dance for BFA actors as well as movement exploration for pre-professional K-6 educators at Utah State University. Adults, in particular, shy away from moving – they leave dance to the experts who spend countless hours developing this skill. Awkward attempts at dancing leave them inhibited and uncomfortable. If my students can finish my courses feeling comfortable and confident in their moving body, then I have done my job"
